About Us:
CalModeling is a model placement firm based in San Francisco specializing in male models aged 18-25. We are part of MRC, a media development
company that has been in business since 2000. CalModeling has two principals and a network of scouts and recruiters throughout
California and in
some other areas of the US and Canada. We work with a number of professionals and companies in different parts of the entertainment and modeling
industries throughout North America, and are constantly developing new contacts and clients who have the need for models. Our clients have done
work in catalog modeling, television and video, film, runway, artistic and studio work, and just about every other area where models are needed.
We have been placing models since 2000, and most of the producers, creative directors, and photographers we work with are constantly in need of
fresh talent, so we are always placing new people. And while many of the opportunities we have are in California, we also work with a number of
talent buyers who work in other parts of the US and Canada, or who fly models in to California for photo shoots, so our models are located all
over North America.
If you're a model:
Like all legitimate placement firms, CalModeling does not charge any up-front fees or costs whatsoever to our models. We are paid by receiving a
small percentage of any work that we arrange or negotiate for you and, unless other arrangements are agreed by both the model and our firm,
models are not bound to exclusively work with us. If an opportunity from a major agency comes your way, we will assist you in negotiating a fair
deal with them. Our goal is to help you be successful, as we are only paid when we find work for you.
If you're a talent buyer:
CalModeling is always seeking new relationships with industry professionals who have opportunities for our models. You will find that we are easy
to work with and will do our best to help you find the right model for your needs, even on relatively short notice. For new talent buyers, we
require a short application and either an acceptable D&B rating or prepayment of the contracted price of the photo shoots until credit is
established. We are not accepting talent buyers who are seeking models for nude or adult work.
A note about professionalism:
CalModeling is a legitimate company that treats all of its employees, models, and associates with integrity and respect. We strive to ensure
that each of our scouts (almost all of whom are independent contractors) and the companies and industry professionals we work with uphold the
level of professionalism and integrity that we require of our own staff. You should never be asked to have any inappropriate contact with any of
our our staff, scouts, or the companies we refer you to, nor should any of our scouts ever ask you to perform in "audition" videos or photo
shoots that involve nudity . We believe that professional treatment of our models is crucial to our growth and success, and we will immediately
terminate our relationship with any scout, staff member, or talent buyer that we believe has failed to uphold these standards.
Occasionally, someone will represent themselves as a scout for us when, in fact, they are not. Each of our scouts will direct you to apply on our
site and send any photos to an address on one of our domains, though sometimes they may request photos to be sent to a personal email for review
prior to recommending you to us. If you have any question as to the legitimacy of someone claiming to work for us or be one of our scouts, please
